This year's contest had the theme "Regional Features and Commonalities" and aimed to guide and encourage undergraduate students in geography to gain a deep understanding of the fundamental perspectives, philosophical connotations, and contemporary significance of geography. The contest emphasized recognizing the critical importance of carrying capacity for resources and the appropriateness of land and space development in optimizing the spatial development and protection layout. It encouraged students to use their knowledge, fundamental theories, and technical methods of geography, along with firsthand observations, research, analysis, and empirical evidence. The goal was to systematically comprehend the environmental and social foundations of their local regions, depict regional uniqueness accurately, and summarize regional regularities. This competition aimed to contribute to the implementation of national policies regarding land and space development and protection, as well as the integrated protection and management of mountains, waters, forests, fields, lakes, grasslands, sands, ice, and snow, known as the "One-Body" protection and management system.
